I'm Feelin' Good

August 27, 2018

Man, I'm feeling so fine! We got transfer news yesterday and I will be finishing my mission here in Eldoret! This is just awesome! I'm happy, I'm motivated, and I'm ready to go on in the work! I feel like emailing today has really filled me up to the brim! Although it is pretty weird, because it seems like there are waves that come and just hit me in the face and I'm like, "man I'm ready for this to be over...", but I love being a missionary. This is the best work. I'm determined to stay alive.

This last week was pretty good. I was able to go on exchanges with Elder Christensen, who is the first missionary that I met on the way here! We came together and even on top of that we almost ran into each other at the youth conference down in Moab! Funny enough, also TC ran into his mom at Lowes! And btw TC, I'm super bad at emailing. I'm sorry, please forgive me. But you are the man and we are going to be cruisin' up Bell's real soon man! But- Elder Christensen and I went on exchanges and had an awesome time! Super awesome miracles that we saw, which I'll tell you at home, and also super awesome/kinda scary story to tell you also when I get home! Man it was an exciting day! But one thing that was on our minds throughout it, had to do with "What is missionary work?", but it was a lot deeper than that alone... after a lot of thinking we came to a final question, and of course there were a whole lot of things we covered in the discussion, too many to name in this email alone, but the final question is "What is the purpose of a saint?". I want you to think about that, what it really means.

I'll say, it's a loaded question... And I don't feel like I got a complete answer yet, because it may very well be grander than this life alone can tell. I love this gospel though. The gospel of eternal progression and love. The gospel changes lives and I've seen that. God cares about all His children, I've seen that. True peace is found in Christ, I've felt that. But I love you all very much, and I can't say that enough, I love you guys. And I hope you all have a better week. and a great week!

Dang Those Sexy Pistols

My pant ripped this week. They ripped right down the middle, so I got them sewed up and then they ripped again. So I got them sewed again, and they ripped again. So I got them sewed AGAIN and they ripped AGAIN! So I sewed them myself and somehow they're sticking together down there, but the stitch looks like I took it to freakin' Victor Frankenstein's shop...

First off, this last week looked like it was pretty good for you guys! Travelin' and workin' on the house! That's some nice stuff! Also, that's some crazy stuff about Hyrum and Grant both going to Barcelona on their missions! That is super sick! I'm excited for those guys! Maybe they can be companions!

Things were good here! But I am very excited about the coming week. We have interviews with president, zone conference, and district conference! Talk about a spirit close-to overload! Woah! I'll report on it this coming week.

But imma peace out for now. I got distracted with some stuff, and I ran out of time, but I love you all!

Bingo Bango- The Lucky Tie...

When I Heard The Ladies Man Was Alive and Well

There are some things that I am really excited about... ex. two new albums by Father John Misty. Ooh baby, that's gonna be good, and reading books, and writing books, and swinging my way into a state of "I'm gonna sit here and chill and paint watercolors and not have a care in the world". Also drinking mate'. I'm excited to do that again. And I want to watch "Soaked in Bleach" the documentary about Kurt Cobain's murder? We were talking with some people in Nairobi about it.

In fact, here's a couple of things to do:
-movies:
   -Soaked in Bleach
-Six (it's a series about navy seals or something?)
   -Shot Caller
-music:
   -everything.
-Hike from Draper Temple to Park City (Yes, I still want to do that.)
-Go on the roof and read books (I used to do that a lot before I left.)
-Drink mate and have deep discussions.
-Books:
   -Eternal Man
   -"Exodus" by Leon Uris
   - "One in Thine Hand" by Gerald Lund
-"The Book of Mormon" by Mormon(oh... wait.)
-Watercolor, 'cause, yeah i draw out here, but I want to paint again, and watercolor is my favorite.

But apart from that stuff, I am super, super happy out here and MLC was amazing! I loved it and it was super powerful as always. I left on a spiritual high and I'm still feeling it! This past Sunday we had a confirmation for one of our investigators who was baptized and had 3 baptisms for other people and they are all super, super, super amazing people! Being on a mission is an amazing experience! I love it out here!

And I love you all, talk to you later and have a good week,

California Knows How to Party

It looks like California was a nice place. I'm glad you had fun together.

On my side, I have been happy. As of late I have, noticed the hand of the Lord in all aspects of my missionary work. I have been feeling the spirit guide. I have been feeling very comfortable with my position here, and together with my companion we have really been having great teaching opportunities. I am very excited about the progress we have been seeing and I am beyond excited to see where these things go. We have a number of investigators who are very serious about the gospel, and it is an amazing thing to see the conversion in them. I am eager to participate in the upcoming MLC to reevaluate our zone, and together with the other leaders, find answers and solutions to the  current concerns that affect us and our work. I know God has good plans for this mission and this people, and my testimony is firm that these blessings only come in and through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Other than that, I have been very pleased with the direction that God has been giving me through personal revelation and scripture study, and I am happy and evermore prepared to go on in this great work.

I love you all! Have a great week.

Going Back Home

July 23, 2018

🍕

I don't want to go home. And I don't have much to write about this week.  We spent it all in Nairobi 'cause we had to show that we aren't illegal. We had some few open days because they didn't want to accept my documents, so me and my homeboy Elder Nyanhamo were able to go back to the stomping grounds, Lucky Summer and Zimmerman, and see the place again. It was amazing. Nice to see my home again, and talk to the people I used to interact with everyday. Lady I used to buy veggies from was very excited to see me, and a lady who has a small hotel (restaurant) across from my old apartment just about fell out of her chair. The moment I walked in the old compound, one of the little kids playing in the parking lot dropped her skateboard and immediately ran up to me and gave me a hug. It was nice.

Something spiritual that happened over there: Contacted a guy when we were in line at the immigration center and found out he was from the Zimmerman area, gave him the phone number of the sisters in Zimmerman. We went to Zimmerman in a place called trm and when we were about to walk into a store, I was like, wait a second, I got a funny feeling that we oughta go over here first, cause I want to check if one of my old friends is still working over here. They weren't, but when we were walking back to the store we were gonna go in, who do I run into? The guy from the immigration center, and he is like, "Yeah now for sure I'm gonna call those sisters! Wow!" and then he called them on the spot and they have an appointment to meet, so woohoo!

Love you all,
