You Can Take The Boy Out Of The Circus, But You Can't Take The Circus Out Of The Boy.

Slack line time!

Bye Bye Bye (N'Sync)

July 10, 2017

Yeah, the title of this email really has nothing to do with what's been happening in my life lately. Just throwin' in a throwback ya know? Also, unfortunately I don't have a lot of time, so I'll keep it short.

Things I miss from home:
-Lasagna and white grape juice on Sundays.
-Diesel (how is he by the way?)

Things I've realised this week:
-The reason I didn't get bigger when I was at home was because I was on a gear diet. All my money went towards outdoor gear instead of gross soda, and potato crisps...

Things that have happened this week:
-Some kids threw rocks at me.
-First member I met said "Welcome to Kisumu. We are going to bully you."
-And as actual good things, I got an awesome comp in a beautiful area. I'm happy to be here.

Also here is something cool about my mission that can't really be found in others:
- I am in my 3rd area, attempting to learn a 3rd new language. It's hard.

Lovin' life though! Love you! Bye!

Beautiful Kisumu Sunset

Beautiful sunset in Kisumu, Elder Fraga's new area! Photo credit goes to Elder Covorubias, one of Aidan's old companions! They have been reunited, not as companions, but in the same area!

Fraga Full Circle

This man with Elder Fraga served his mission in Johannesburg South Africa with Aidan's oldest brother Conner, and now lives in Zimmerman, the area where Aidan just left! It's a small world!

This Wild Man Surely Became A City Boy

July 3, 2017

Well, I'm moving to Kisumu. Moving instead of being transfered, because Zimmerman really did become my HOME. Not just another area. I loved the 6 months that I was able to spend there. The people in that ward, and the investigators that we had, are seriously just awesome. And now they are in the hands of sister missionaries. It was actually a little sad saying goodbye to people on Sunday... Taking pictures and having them write little messages in a book that I brought was TOUGH! And when I was bearing my testimony for the last time, I thought about crying! But only because some people were in the congregation... But I love those guys. They're like family.

Anyways, here I am in Kisumu now, the third largest city in Kenya, which from my opinion can be likened to Cedar City, in Utah. I don't know much about the area, considering I got here just about an hour and a half ago, but I know it's famous for their fish, and it is on the shore of Lake Victoria, the biggest lake in Africa! Wow! I haven't seen it yet, but I hope to... My new companion is Elder Jack from Zimbabwe. He seems pretty pacyipa (cool in Shona) I'm excited to see what happens this transfer!

But let me tell you about how weird, and awesome, and chill today was. First off it was super weird because I was alone throughout the 9 hours of traveling... I haven't been alone for 9 months!... Super weird... Awesome, because Kenya is awesome, and when we were driving over I was reminded of how beautiful this place is... Look up pictures of the Rift Valley and the Nakuru Forest! We were on the top of a mountain, driving through a cloud, in the middle of a pine tree forest! Where did that come from? I don't know, but it was awesome! I got to see some crazy awesome mountains, and lakes and a bunch of other crap. It was cool, and it was super chill cause I just read General Conference talks, looked out the window, and ate some food. Haha! It was cool.

But yeah! Life goin' alright! Feelin' good feelin' strong, and building God's kingdom!

But I love you guys!

I'll talk to ya l8r!

What's Good In The Hood?

June 26, 2017

How's it hangin' up there in OOOtah? I sure do miss that place... But time is flyin'! Seriously, how are we already through half of 2017?? It's insane!

Well, I guess I'll just get right into things! This past week has been okay! For some reason, the work has been slowing down a little bit over here and it makes me a little bit bummed. But as I was wallowing in my despair and wracking my brain to find out how to improve the area, the hymn "Did You Think To Pray?" popped into my head, and I dropped to my knees. I really poured my heart out about being able to find ways to find and teach more people who are serious, and who would have a sincere interest in what we have to teach. At the end of the prayer, I felt peaceful, and I knew that from that point on God would reward us for our efforts. A couple of minutes later, we met with a referral that was given to us from the Lucky Summer elders the day before, and began the lesson. The man's name is Mike John and we had a very nice, very powerful discussion with him! At the end of all of it, he accepted a baptismal date, and said "I hope you guys don't mind, I just invited a friend to come so you guys can teach him..." My jaw dropped and I was just speechless... His friend showed up a little while later and really had potential. He said he has like 10-15 more friends who could be interested too! -Which is awesome! An answer to our prayers!

But I gotta go.

Love you!
