First and foremost, I'd like to wish a big ol' FELIZ CUMPLEANOS to the baddest hardcore of us all, the man the myth the legend, and my amazing father, Roberto D Fraga. Thanks for being who you are Pops. I could not ask for a better role model, example, teacher, and leader in my life. You are the BEST!!! I love you more than you can even begin to understand, and I wouldn't be here without you.
Secondly, no one gave me an update on Dies'? So... how is the guy? I miss him like heck.
Also, here is a little more info on the area. It is very hot, and pretty cool. We've got mountains to the east and the lake to the west and when we climb up onto the top of the apartment complex, which is where I was slacklining in that picture (I don't actually know how you got that picture by the way...) you can see Lake Vic way out there stretching out to the horizon. And I thought it was super weird that one day I'll be able to look at a map and say, "Yeah. I lived there for __ months of my life. I saw the biggest lake in Africa every single day of my life when I was out there.".... Pretty crazy. I wanted to go out and see if we could catch some fish, but the hippos and the crocodiles make it a li'l bit too dangerous, and I don't think that sounds like the best idea anymore...
Here is a nice story from yesterday though. I was feelin' pretty bummed, so I decided to head up to the roof and chill out for a li'l while. I was just sitting there pondering lyfe with the boyz chillin' all around me. While we were just listening to some soft tunes, a chill breeze began to blow, and storm clouds from out over the lake came rolling in. Shortly thereafter the rain began falling out of the sky like luo's throwing stones at thief's, and we were getting soaked, but we all just ran around enjoying it, singin' and dancin' in the rain, and I started singing "I believe I can fly", and it was like cloud 9, was just pourin' out all its blessings upon us. It was nice. Then the thunder started striking, and it was loud and close and I almost peed my pants (not that the other elder would have even been able to tell with that much rain) and we bailed... Unfortunately, through the whole ordeal, my mp3 got zapped. So, goodbye Daryl Hall. See ya later John Oats. mpake tuku tane tena boys, mpake tuku tane tena...(That's till we meet again in Swahili)
But anyways, I think that's just about it....
OH WAIT! The title! I was thinking the other day about missions:
Dad: Madrid, Spain- a european mission. Aye! I think that would be tough.
Conner: Johannesburg, South Africa- Rated the most dangerous mission.
Conner: Johannesburg, South Africa- Rated the most dangerous mission.
Aanika: Salta, Argentina- Rated the hottest mission.
Your boy A-dawg- Nairobi, Kenya- Rated as one of the top three hardest missions. (Because of what we see and go through on a daily basis)
We are a crazy family! Sure do love you guys! And I miss ya like crazy! But have fun getting married and doing whatever the heck else your doin' back home in Utah!
Also, perhaps as a spiritual challenge for this week. A while back, when I was going through a tough time, a nice friend of mine encouraged me to read John 15. At the time, I kinda brushed over it, but later when things seemed to get harder, I turned back to it and it struck me to the soul, and has since become my favorite chapter in the scriptures. Christ is our friend, and like a friend, he is always there to pick us up and carry us when we are too weak. All we gotta do is listen to him!
Again, I love you guys. Hope you have an awesome week.
